All of our ropes are handmade using traditional and established techniques. Since the start of Mendip Ropemakers in 2012, we have always ensured that the best materials and skills are used to enable us to manufacture bell ropes of the highest quality.

Our merino wool is sourced from within the UK and we have strong relationships with both flax and hemp mills in Eastern Europe. We have worked hard with our suppliers to ensure that our pre-stretched polyester has the minimum stretch and also are skilled in the use of Dyneema which offers a zero-stretch alternative to polyester.

Whilst this website gives details of a standard range of bell ropes, we are happy to consider bespoke commissions to suit any application.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our ropes and our customer service.

Mendip Ropemakers Limited is three years old!

It’s been a busy three years of trading for Mendip Ropemakers and our work has reached many happy customers throughout the UK and overseas. To see a list of just a few of our recent customers, please Click Here. Please also see our gallery for some recent photographs.

During April of 2014, Mendip Ropemakers relocated to a new premises at the heart of the Somerset Levels. The new building offers a lot more space and we can now boast two fully operational rope walks. The benefit of this is that we can now manufacture more ropes, faster! Consequently, our lead times have been dramatically reduced and we can now supply a complete new set of ropes within one month!
